Beijing Language and Culture University has different colleges and schools, all admit international students. The College of Chinese Studies, Beijing Language and Culture University, was the first teaching institution in China to provide degrees for overseas students and is a major component of the university. The College focuses on teaching Chinese language and Chinese culture to overseas students studying here for their bachelor degrees. Every year over 1,600 students come to study from more than 60 different countries and areas. College of Intensive Chinese Studies (CICS) has a cumulative enrollment of more than 70,000 foreign students who represent 110 countries and districts. And every year there are 6000 students studying in CICS. In addition every year BLCU admits also international students in its department of international economics and trade for bachelors and masters degree English taught programs.
