Fudan University offers international students 1 Bachelor Degree Program taught in English: International Politics
1. Qualification for Applicants
(1). High school graduate or above, qualified for university entrance, medically sound foreigners;
(2). Emigrants from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan applying as international students must have obtained their current foreign citizenship at least 4 years up to April 30 of the admission year. In addition, the applicant must have lived abroad for at least 2 years of the last four years;
(3). Applicants shall have good English proficiency.
2. Application Materials
(1). Application Form;
(2). Scan copy of diploma of highest degree conferred or proof of impending graduation (for applicants in their final year of study) (notarized English translation);
(3). Scan copy of transcripts of highest degree conferred (notarized English translation);
(4). Scan copy of TOEFL (IBT) score of 90 or above or IELTS (Academic) score 6.5 or above, taken within two years prior to application date (only for applicants from non-English speaking countries);
(5). Scan copy of valid passport identification page. Passport must be an ordinary passport and be valid for at least six months from the application time until September 30. Applicants currently residing in China must include scan copy of the page containing a valid visa or residence permit;
(6). Three passport-sized photos (photo must have been taken within the past six months);
(7). Personal statement, no more than 2000 words in English, including (but not limited to) motivation for application and details on academic skills, community activities, awards received, personal strengths, study plan, and life goals;
(8). Two letters of recommendation in English from whom can attest to the quality of his/her academic performance and scholastic potential. The letters must include referees’ phone number and email address;
(9). Applicants who are not 18 years old before September 1 of the admission year, must submit a Guarantee Statement. The guarantor should be an adult, either a Chinese or a foreigner, living in Shanghai with a stable source of income;
(10). Emigrants from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan must submit proof of naturalization and scan copy of entry and exit stamps on passports from the past four years or evidence of residing abroad for at least two of the last four years;
(11). Applicants who are not emigrants from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan, but have spent two or more of the last four years in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan as a resident or student, must submit evidence of being foreign citizens at birth.
Note:
(1). “Last four years” is defined as the period between April 30, four years ago and April 30, the year of admission.
(2). Applicants may send additional documents which may demonstrate their comprehensive abilities along with the required documents, for example, award certificates, admission notices from other universities, etc.
(3). Additional application documents may be required when necessary.

(1). Applicants should be non-Chinese citizens with a valid ordinary-type passport;
(2). Applicants should be in good health;
(3). Applicants should have attained a bachelor’s degree;
(4). English is good enough to complete the course.
2. Application Materials
(1). Application Form;
(2). Statement of purpose, around 1000 words in English, the content should include study and work experience, academic research achievement, planned research proposal, and individual development objective after graduation;
(3). Two recommendation letters, the referee should be professor or associate professor or person with relevant academic title, the recommendation letter must be in English and the referee’s signature and contact method are necessary, there is no official reference form;
(4). Official academic transcript up to the present, they must be scan copy of certified copies in English;
(5). Official diploma, they must be scan copy of certified copies in English; applicants who have not graduated yet should provide an official letter stating expected graduate date;
(6). Scan copy of language certificate and score report;
(7). One scan copy of the applicant’s valid passport, the passport type must be ordinary;
(8). Catalogue and abstract of published papers, and other documents than can prove academic ability;
(9). Other materials required by the specific academic department the applicant applies.
