Medical Overseas Students at Nanjing Medical University, China

In 2002, Nanjing Medical University resumed the admission of international students (including MBBS students) and students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. Currently, more than 500 international students are studying medicine in Nanjing Medical University.

School of International Education (SIE) was specially set up in June 2005 to be in full charge of international students and other related foreign affairs. There are 15 administrative staff and more than 300 faculty members. By the end of September 2012, SIE had enrolled 670 foreign students and more than 260 students from Hong Kong, Macaw & Taiwan, including undergraduates, master and doctorate students. Overseas students are mainly from the following 25 countries: India, Nepal, Pakistan, South Korea, Vietnam, Bahrain, Sudan, Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Afghanistan, the United States, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Yemen, Mauritius, Malaysia, Japan and Congo.
 
With more than 500 overseas students at present, SIE has developed into a multi-level education system from undergraduates & masters to doctorates. The specific programs are as follows: undergraduate programs are Clinical Medicine (Chinese-medium teaching, School System for 5 years; English-medium teaching, School System for 6 years ) and Stomatology (Chinese-medium teaching, School System for 5 years); master degree programs include Stomatology, Internal Medicine (cardiovascular disease), Pediatrics, Dermatology and Venereology, Imaging and Nuclear Medicine (Image), Epidemiology and Statistics, and Gynecology; and doctorate programs include Nutriology, Pathology, etc.
