Shenyang Aerospace University (SAU), formerly known as Shenyang Institute of Aeronautical Engineering, founded in 1952, is a comprehensive research university in Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning province in Northeast China. Shenyang Aerospace University is situated in the center of “Northern College Town” of Shenyang, and educates students for supporting the military and civil aviation industries of China. (1) History
Founded in 1952, the university was initially administered by the Ministry of Aeronautical & Astronautical Industry, and later by the China General Corporation of Aeronautical Industry. Since 1999, SAU has been under the administration of the Liaoning Provincial Government and is the only university owned by the China Industry and Information Technology Ministry and the Liaoning Provincial Government. It is one of the eight universities constructed by the former China National Defense Ministry and local provincial governments. In addition, it is the only university of aeronautical and astronautical engineering in Liaoning Province.
On 18 March 2010 the China Ministry of Education approved the name change from Shenyang Institute of Aeronautical Engineering (SYIAE) to Shenyang Aerospace University (SAU).

Characterized by aeronautics and astronautics, Shenyang Aerospace University is a multi-disciplinary university, which, while focusing on engineering, also covers such areas as science, liberal arts and management. Shenyang Aerospace University consisting of 22 faculties and colleges offers 57 bachelor programs and 69 master programs in science, liberal arts and management, etc. There are more than 22000 full-time students and 1000 international students study at Shenyang Aerospace University at present.

Shenyang Aerospace University currently enrolls 1700 faculty members, including more than 482 professors. Shenyang Aerospace University has a large library with a collection of over one million, and collection of e-books reached more than 500, 000 sets. Shenyang Aerospace University has 8 provincial and ministerial level key laboratories, 1 municipal level key laboratory, 2 provincial and ministerial level engineering centers, 1 national level research institute and 9 provincial and ministerial level research institutes.

In October 1958, by the independent development of teachers and students at Shenyang Aerospace University, the "Shen hang one" aircraft flying on the blue sky, attracted worldwide attention. At present, the Technology Park of Shenyang Aerospace University is one of the key University Science and Technology Park of Liaoning Provincial People's Government, and the annual output value reaches over billion. (5) Communication and international cooperation
There are totally 1000 international students from over 76 countries including US, France, Russia, Pakistan, Nigeria, etc. studying on the campus for their Bachelor and Master Degrees in English medium or Chinese medium and the Chinese language program. Shenyang Aerospace University has built international academic exchanges and cooperation relationships in scientific research with more than 80 foreign universities and research institutions, such as universities in France, Aviation University in Korea, Siberia Aerospace University in Russia, Amur State University of Technology in Russia and etc.
