Shenyang Institute of Engineering (SIE) is a full-time regular undergraduate institution, and it is affiliated to the people's government of Liaoning province. School is comprised of three campuses, namely, main campus, industry campus and science park. Presently, SIE has a total student population of 11,064. Since it was founded, SIE has sent tens of thousands of applied talents to society. The employment rate of SIE has remained above 90% in recent years and graduates have received widely positive reviews from their employers.

(1) History 
Shenyang Institute of Engineering (SIE) was formed in 2003 by the merger of Shenyang Electric Power University and Liaoning Business Vocational College. In May 1952, the first electric technical school in northeast China was formed, which was named the Technical School of Northeast Electric Industry Authority. In July 1958, the school was upgraded to a technical secondary school, and the school name was changed to Shenyang Power School. In April 1992, the school was renamed Shenyang Electric Power College. The history of liaoning business vocational college is as follows. In 1947, Harbin youth cadre school was founded. In August 1958, the school changed its name to Liaoning Youth League School. In July 1999, the college was transferred from the adult higher education institution to the higher vocational college, which was renamed as Liaoning Business Vocational College. Until 2003, the two schools merged into Shenyang Institute of Engineering. In October 2011, the school was determined to be a pilot work unit for master's degree postgraduate degree, and obtained the master's degree authorization in two fields, "power engineering and electrical engineering".
(2) Discipline and programs
Until December 2017, the school opened, there are 37 undergraduate programs, including electrical engineering and its automation is the national characteristic specialty construction, energy and power engineering specialty is a national comprehensive reform pilot. There are 4 pilot programs for provincial transformation and development, 4 pilot programs for comprehensive reform of the province, and 2 pilot programs for the reform of provincial engineering talents training mode. The school has 11 teaching institutes such as power institute, energy and dynamic college, and six teaching departments, such as the research department and the basic teaching department.
(3) Academic facilities and Scientific research 
Shenyang Institute of Engineering has established a national, provincial, municipal research platform system. The research achievements are as follows: 1 State- Level Engineering Technology Center, 1 “Liaoning 2011 Collaborative Innovation Center”, 1 Provincial Development and Reform Committee Engineering Research Center, 4 Provincial Key Laboratories, 1 Liaoning Province Social Governance Research Base, 1 Engineering Research Center at Provincial level, 1 Collaborative Innovation Base between Universities and Industrial cluster of Liaoning Province, 6 key Laboratories at Municipal Level, 1 Engineering Research Center at Municipal Level and 3 University-Enterprise Cooperative Research Centers. The school library has a building area of 214000 square meters, with a collection of 697 thousand copies of paper books, 284,000 electronic books, 13,000 electronic academic journals and 441 thousand electronic dissertations.
(4) Shenyang Institute of Engineering Achievement
In recent years, the school has undertaken 12 national projects, such as national natural fund, national 863 program, 530 projects of provincial and municipal science and technology projects, and 160 horizontal projects. To obtain the second prize of national technology invention, the second prize of national scientific and technological progress; Won 1 first prize, 6 second prize and 8 third prize of provincial science and technology progress; Liaoning province philosophy and social science achievements first prize, second prize two, third prize nine. The school actively explores the law of the cultivation of applied talents, and the development path of the integration of production teaching and the cooperation of school enterprises. In recent years, the annual employment rate of graduates has always been stable at more than 95%, which has been awarded the title of China's typical college graduate employment in 2015.
(5) Communication and international cooperation
School with Canada BC Polytechnic University, Honghe University, Canada, Australia's Murdoch University, University of Caledonia, Glasgow, Cali Spanish Catalonia Polytechnic University and so on nearly 20 foreign universities and education institutions concluded friendly relations of cooperation. Approved by the ministry of education in 2009, Honghe International College, established in collaboration with Honghe College of Canada, is the first chinese-foreign cooperatively-run school in Liaoning province. In 2010, we launched the "2 + 2" student exchange program in collaboration with the University of Murdoch, Australia.
