Scholarships in Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, China for International Student

There are two types of scholarship that a foreign students who want to study at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics could apply for: President Scholarship and Chengdu Sister-City Scholarship. Each scholarship have its application requirement.

President Scholarship 

The President Scholarship for International Students of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (hereinafter referred to as SWUFE) is set to enhance the friendship between Chinese people and other people from all countries, promote world-wide exchanges of economy and culture, encourage and help those international students, who perform well both morally and academically, and learn diligently to form a positive learning environment. 

1. Qualification for Applicant 

The Scholarship is for: International students who wish to pursue or are undertaking a degree program at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. Applicants must meet the following conditions: 

(1). Applicants must be healthy, excellent in character and learning; 

(2). Applicants are no more than 30 years of age, 35 years of age, 40 years of age for bachelor's degree, Master's degree, PhD applicants respectively; 

(3). Applicants are not sponsored by any other scholarship. 

(4). Language of instruction in English: IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 70 for bachelor; IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80 for Master and PhD.

(2). Scan copy of  Graduation Certificate 

(3). Scan copy of language proficiency proof 

(4). Scan copy of transcript 

(5). Two recommendation letters 

(6). Scan copy of passport 

(7). Scan copy of Medical Examination Report (Within one year)

Note: All requirement documents for scholarship application should be in English or Chinese or attached with translations in English or Chinese. 

Chengdu Sister-City Scholarship

Chengdu local government set up a scholarship for those from one of Chengdu’s sister cities. This Scholarship is provided by Chengdu Municipal People’s Government to support the study and living of international students from international Sister Cities of Chengdu. 

1.Qualification for Applicant

(1). Non-Chinese citizen

(2). Receive admission letter of degree/diploma education or non-degree programs that last more than three months in Chengdu 

(3). Born in, study, work or live in the Sister Cities of Chengdu City and hold the confirmation letters issued by related government departments of Sister Cities (in change of international affairs) 

(4). International students who have been awarded the Government Scholarship for International Students in Sichuan Province are not allowed to apply for the Scholarship.
