Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine owns six affiliated hospitals and 30 teaching hospitals, which serve as important centers for clinical practice. The First Teaching Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
The First Teaching Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) was established in 1954. It is the earliest and the largest medical organization of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in Tianjin. It is one of the best hospitals of China, the demonstration TCM hospital on the provincial level, the reliable demonstration hospital, the first AAA-grade hospital in Tianjin and the best hospitals in Tianjin. It is named as the National Clinical Research Center of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, the National Special Medical Center of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, the National Special Medical Center of Emergency and establishment organization of National Special Medical Center of Pediatrics by State Administration Bureau of TCM and the Tianjin Research Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, the national demonstration organization of establishment of TCM culture and clinical research base of TCM. In the year of 2001, the hospital was defined as the Tianjin Medical Center of TCM by Tianjin Municipal Government. Acupuncture and Tuina and Internal Medicine of TCM belong to the emphases subjects of State Education Ministry; Acupuncture Dept. and Pediatric Dept. belong to the emphases special departments of State Ministry of Health; Acupuncture and Moxibustion Dept., Cardiovascular Dept., Pediatric Dept and Nephropathy Dept. belong to the emphases subjects of State Administration of TCM; Acupuncture and Moxibustion Dept., Cardiovascular Dept., Pediatric Dept., Nephropathy Dept. In 2010, Tianjin government approved that our hospital would establish a new modern hospital covered the building area of 160,000 square meters as the important project of improving the people livelihood in the Twelfth Five-year Plan. It is estimated that will be finished and applied in 2014.
