Chengdu Sister City Scholarship

In March 2014, Chengdu Municipal People’s Government officially set up the “Government Scholarship for International Students from International Sister Cities of Chengdu City” (hereinafter referred to as the “Scholarship”) in order to further the exchange and cooperation between Chengdu City and its international Sister Cities and enhance mutual understanding and friendship.

The Scholarship is provided by Chengdu Municipal People’s Government to support the study and living of international students from international Sister Cities who receive degree/diploma education or non-degree programs for more than three months in Chengdu.

As one of the universities eligible of receiving the Scholarship students, UESTC welcome students to study here.

1. Eligible Applicants

(1). Non-Chinese citizen;

(2). Born in, study, work or live in the Sister Cities of Chengdu City’s and hold the confirmation letters issued by related government departments of Sister Cities (in change of international affairs).

(3). Degree Student Scholarship (Bachelor, Master and PhD Degree)

(5) Scan copy of Physical Check Form for Foreigners

(6) Scan copy of recommendation from home countries

UESTC international student scholarships 

UESTC international student scholarships include 3 types: they are Outstanding International Student Scholarship, Scholarship for Academic Achievements, and Scholarship for Excellent Performance.

1. Application Requirements for Outstanding International Student

(1). Candidates should be full-time UESTC degree students and are graduating students.

(2). Good moral character and behavior; abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and UESTC.

(3). Excellent academic achievement; good ability of Innovation and are active in practice; average academic score is above 80.

(4). Excellent in scientific research, innovation of science and technology, culture, art, sports, social practice and social services; special contribution to society and school, and gain honors for the university or social reputation.

2. Requirements for Scholarship for Academic Achievements

(1). Existing student studying in UESCT exceeding one year

(2). Existing student complying with the laws and regulations of the Chinese government as well as the UESTC

(3). Existing student with one of the following outstanding performances in the last couple of years

(4). As the first author or second author (the supervisor needs to be the first author), of publications, on behalf of UESTC, on important international academic journals, or domestic core journals, or important international conference of the discipline

(5). With a right learning attitude, hardworking and excellent academic achievement in a school year

(6). Outstanding achievements in research projects

(7). Existing student actively participating in various activities or social practice organized by the university or schools

(8). The CSC scholarship owners or winners of the first-grade scholarship for new students are ineligible to the Academic Excellence Scholarship

3. Requirements of Scholarship for Excellent Performance

(1). Existing students study in UESTC for at least one semester

(2). No violation of Chinese government laws and UESTC rules and regulations

(3). Active participation of public activities, social practices, social services and student service work and make great achievements

(4). Active participation of various arts, sports and cultural exchange activities

4. Students with one of the following cases are ineligible for scholarship application

(1). Violation of Chinese laws or UESTC rules and regulations.

(2). Being late for and absent from the classes without asking for leave or reasonable excuses and serious violation of UESTC class regulations.

(3). Failing to get enough credits stipulated in the teaching plans.

(4). Providing false information in scholarship application materials
