1.Brief Introduction

Zhanjiang City, formerly known as “Guangzhou Bay”, and it is a prefecture-level city in Guangdong province. The city is located on the southern tip of the mainland of China and is a tropical and subtropical monsoon climate. It is regulated by the ocean climate all the year round. It has abundant resources of tropical crops and seafood. Zhanjiang has a developed sea and air traffic, it is the economics center of Guangdong and Beibu gulf city clusters. One of the first batch of 14 coastal open cities in China in1984, since 1999, successively obtains China excellent tourism city, National model city, achieved National garden city, China's top ten leisure city such as the honorary title.

2.History

In November 1899, the French forced the Chinese government signed the order method in the Guangzhou bay concession treaty, SuiXi ray state, high Wuchuan part of state land, islands and hemp inclined gulf between the two counties as the French concession, generally referred to as the "Guangzhou bay", set up in Guangzhou bay envoy to administrative department, be subject to the jurisdiction of the governor kofi annan. The French colonial authorities also named Guangzhou bay city as Fort Bayard, according to Bayard, the French naval vessel that first entered the bay of Guangzhou. In 1943, the Japanese invaders took over "Guangzhou bay" from the French and named Zhanjiang.

3.Geographic Location

Zhanjiang include all of the Leizhou peninsula and part of the North of the peninsula, the east faces the south China sea, south separates the Qiongzhou strait and large special economic zone of Hainan province, West beibu bay, adjacent to the Guangxi zhuang autonomous region, northwest and northeast province borders Maoming, the urban area is located in the Leizhou peninsula.

4.Economics

In 2015, the total GDP of the city reached 238.002 billion yuan, an increase of 8.5 percent over the previous year, and higher than the national and provincial level. Among them, the first industry grew by 3.6%, the secondary industry grew by 9.7% and the tertiary industry grew by 9.1%. GDP per capita reached 329 thousand yuan, an increase of 7.9 percent over the previous year. Per capita disposable income was 16631.7 yuan, up 8.7 percent. Among them, the per capita disposable income of urban residents was 2,3129.4 yuan, an increase of 8.5%, and the per capita disposable income of rural residents was 1,405.4 yuan, up by 9.0%.

5.Transportation

Zhanjiang existing Zhanjiang airport, Zhanjiang xintang airport, citic sea direct zhanjiang slope helicopter field and the air force zhanjiang suixi military airport, and the preparation of the Guangdong west international airport. Lizhan railway, Sanmao railway, Yuehai railway, Luozhan railway, Maozhan railway in Zhanjiang intersection, and railway traffic developed. In Zhanjiang city, there are more than 60 bus routes, which are very convenient. 

6. Climate

Zhanjiang is located in the low latitude area south of the tropic of cancer. It belongs to the tropical and subtropical monsoon climate. It is regulated by the ocean climate all year round. The average annual rainfall is 1417-1802mm, and in April and September is the rainy season, with the most rainfall in August. In October and march, there was less rainfall, and there was frequent drought. Tropical storms and typhoons in summer and autumn were more frequent. The annual average sunshine time was 1817-2106 hours. Low pressure, tropical storm, typhoon landings are frequent.
