Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine has 26 affiliated hospitals and 35 teaching hospitals. The first, second and third affiliated hospital provide more than 5,000 beds. The hospital’s amount of outpatient has reach 15 million annually which has been the first place in China for 20 years. There are also 24 Pharmacy practice bases and 4 other teaching bases for students’ practicing. These hospitals and professional bases fulfill their functions and perform their duties in clinical treatment, research, teaching, and courses of study. The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a large comprehensive hospital which was founded in 1964. It is a comprehensive base of higher Chinese medical treatment, teaching and scientific research in China. The hospital covers an area of 50940 square meters, a building area of 180 thousand square meters. It opens 2200 beds, 41 clinical departments. Medical business continued to grow every year. In 2014, the emergency volume exceeded 3 million 70 thousand, hospitalized patients admitted to exceeded more than 50 thousand. Emergency volume ranks the first among all hospitals in Guangzhou city (including Chinese medicine hospital and West Hospital).
