Application for Guangdong Government Newly-admitted Foreign Student Scholarship
In order to encourage more extraordinary foreign students to study in Guangdong province, Guangdong government set up “Foreign Student Scholarship” for newly-admitted students. The scholarship is open to undergraduate and postgraduate candidates.
1. Eligibility
(1). Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and be in good health.
(2). Applicants should have excellent academic performance with clear study proposal.
(3). Education background and age limit:
- Applicants for Bachelor degree program must be graduates from high school or above and be under age of 30.
- Applicants for master’s degree program must have bachelor’s degree or above and be under the age of 35.
- Applicants for doctoral degree program must have master’s degree or above and be under the age of 40.

(2). The notarized copies of the certificates for the latest degree and graduation.
(3). A copy of transcript certified by the graduate school.
(4). Recommendation letters:
- Applicants for Bachelor program should provide two recommendation letters from the principal and one teacher of the high school they graduate; For Bachelor program applicants with Bachelor degree or above, they should provide two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors of the university they graduate.
- Applicants for master program should provide two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors of the university they obtain Bachelor degree.
- Applicants for doctoral program should provide two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors of the university they obtain master degree.
