Answer: The program is fully English medium program.

2. How is the living standard in Tianjin city? What about the canteen in the University?

Answer: The living cost here is about 150USD for your food per month. Several canteens and restaurants are available on campus of Hebei University of Technology, offering a good variety of delicious food; Muslim food is also available to international students.

3. How can I arrive in Tianjin city, the location of University?

Answer: If there is no direct flight to Tianjin, the recommended route is to fly to Beijing and take the direct bus to Tianjin (around 2.5 hours) just inside Beijing Capital International Airport.

4. Can you send a vehicle to take us from the local airport to the University?

Answer: Hebei University of Technology offers international students Airport Pick-up service from Tianjin Binhai International Airport to the campus. In order to make international students more convenient, airport pick-up service is also available from Beijing Capital International Airport to the university. But international students should send detailed departure, transfer and arrival schedule to us in advance so that the university can pick up without any delay.

5. How can I exchange some Chinese currency for my pocket money when I just arrived in China?

Answer: Students can exchange some Chinese currency in bank for shuttle/bus ticket fare and pocket money in big airport when they arrive in China. And students can buy telephone card from business counter in the airport to give international call and domestic call if students need.

6. How are the transportation, telecom and internet in Tianjin City?

Answer: There is one airport, three train stations and many buses in Tianjin to many cities in China. Tianjin port is the world's top-level and China’s largest artificial deep water harbor. There are convenient public facilities for telecom and internet, you can buy telecom card to call in any time and there are lots of internet pub for going on internet.

7. How is the climate in Tianjin City?

Answer: Tianjin features a four-season, monsoon-influenced climate, typical of East Asia, with cold, windy, very dry winters reflecting the influence of the vast Siberian anticyclone, and hot, humid summers, due to the monsoon. Spring in the city is dry and windy, occasionally seeing sandstorms blowing in from the Gobi Desert, capable of lasting for several days. Annual mean temperature approximates 14 °C (57.2 °F).

Answer: Yes, a student could open a bank account in his name to keep his surplus money safe. He could also use this account to have his family remit any additional money as required.

11. Is learning Chinese language compulsory?

Answer: Even though the program is instructed in English, but international students must study Chinese language according to Ministry of Education, China. Chinese language classes are just offered in the first two years, three times per week, and international students are required to pass the basic level. Besides, it will be helpful for students in daily life if they learn some Chinese language.
