Xinyu City, China - Jiangxi University of Engineering Located City

Xinyu City is a prefecture-level city in west-central Jiangxi Province, People's Republic of China. Xinyu is an important member of the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, located in the west section of Zhejiang-Jiangxi Railway. The city has a total area of 3178 square kilometers. By the end of 2017, Xinyu has one district and one county: Fenyi County and Yushui district, the population is 1.18 million, and the annual GDP was 110.851 billion CNY.

History
Xinyu has a history of more than 1,700 years. It became a county in 267 during the Three Kingdoms period. In Jin Dynasty, it became a major city in Southern China with a population of over 50,000. In Tang Dynasty, it was part of Yuanzhou (known as Yichun today). In 742, the city's name Xinyu was mistaken. The government of PRC simplified the city's name as Xinyu in 1957.
Economy
By the end of 2017, the annual GDP of Xinyu was 110.851 billion CNY, increases by 8.5% compared with the previous year. Among them, the added value of the primary industry was 6.628 billion CNY, increases by 4.4%; the added value of the secondary industry was 55.858 billion CNY, increases by 8.3%; and the added value of the tertiary industry was 48.365 billion CNY, increases by 9.3%. Per capita GDP reached 94,165 CNY, increases by 7.9%. The contribution rates of the three industries to economic growth are 2.9%, 54.6% and 42.5% respectively. The three industrial restructurings were 6.0:50.4:43.6. The added value of non-public economy was 64.752 billion CNY, increases by 8.6%, accounting for 58.4% of GDP.
Education
In 2017, there were 37.8 thousand university and college students, 25.3 thousand senior high school students, 45 thousand junior high school students and 104.3 thousand primary school students in Xinyu. There are 13.7 thousand students in secondary vocational schools. There are 229 students in special education schools. Universities and colleges cover Jiangxi University of Engineering, Xinyu University, etc.
Geographical Location and Pleasant Climate
Xinyu City has a four-season, monsoon-influenced humid subtropical climate. It can be very hot and rainy in summer. The city is located 135 km (84 mi) southwest of Nanchang, the provincial capital - about two and half hours away by car via highway. The city's main industry is the XinYu steel plant, which dominates the area. Xinyu has abundant sunshine, abundant rainfall, long frost-free period and short severe winter. The city has a mild climate with an annual average temperature of 17.7 °C (63.9 °F). July is the hottest period of the year. The monthly average temperature is 29.4 °C (84.9 °F). January is the coldest period of the year, with an average monthly temperature of 5.4 °C (41.7 °F).

Tourist Attractions
Xinyu is known for the scenery and cultural sites of Fairy Lake (also known as Xiannv Lake) The legend of Dong Yong and the Seventh Fairy has been passed down until now. Their love story took place at today's Fairy Lake Region.
