The First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University is one of the first “Grade III, Level A” general hospitals in Jiangsu Province. In the list of China’s Best Hospitals issued by Hospital Management Institute of Fudan University, the hospital entered the top 50 for three consecutive years and ranked first in the list of Top 100 Hospitals in China’s Prefecture-level Cities in 2013.

To encourage the expansion of high-quality medical resources, the Suzhou Municipal Party Committee and Government decided to add another 66667 square kilometers to the existing 66667 square kilometers of the Pingjiang New Campus in 2011, realizing the moving of the main body to the new city of Pingjiang, and the whole program became a major health development project during the Twelfth Five-year Plan Period of Suzhou. The total investment of the program is about 2.9 billion CNY and it will have 3000 beds when completed.
