On-Campus Hostel
Xi'an Jiaotong University School of Medicine offers international students on-campus hostel and the dormitory buildings operate like a hotel. Various double rooms and single rooms are available to international students. For international student who chooses double room, the roommate could be assigned by the University or chosen by himself or herself after reaching University. Separate accommodations are provided to male and female students. There are rules and regulations for accommodation, students shall read carefully and abide after reaching University.
The hostel rooms are provided with good living facilities and reasonable layout, including attached bathroom and shower, telephone set, TV set, air conditioner, central heating system, study desk, chair, wardrobe, bed and bedding, and an internet access socket. The grading for building type is based on total surface area and added accessories. There is a communal kitchen on each floor, provided with an electric stove and a washing machine. The dormitory buildings are also furnished with classrooms, dining room and laundry. They are within easy walking distance of teaching buildings and library.
Surroundings around hostel buildings are quiet and beautiful. Social and sporting facilities are close to the accommodation. It is within easy walking distance of school canteens, basketball courts and football fields etc. Classrooms and library are beside accommodation as well. All dormitory buildings are conveniently located for public transport, shops and restaurants.

Water rate and basic charges of power are included in the accommodation fee. For excessive electricity charge, international students need to pay additionally. For internet fee, international students are required to pay according to their use.
Note: All the medical freshmen are required to live on campus for at least one year.
Off-Campus Accommodation
Off-campus accommodation is also permitted for international students at Xi'an Jiaotong University School of Medicine.
Procedures to live off the Campus
1. Submitting application:
Written applications should be taken to an instructor before 20th July. When an original and duplicated lease of contract and duplicated landlord ID are submitted to the instructor before 30th August, students will get Registration form of Accommodation, Application form of Accommodation and Agreement of International Students Living Outside, and fill them in.
2. Clearing fees:
Due fees should be cleared and check-out should be done before 15th September. Otherwise, the apartment will be charged per day after September 15th (Double room: 60 CNY/day/person, Single Room: 80 CNY/day/person).
3. Going through procedures:
(1). Both forms should be signed and sealed by International Students Affairs Office and Hostel Administration Office.
(2). Students should go to the Xi’an Public Security Bureau (PSB) along with both forms, lease of contract and duplicated landlord ID.
4. Checking out:
Signed and sealed forms should be handed in to their instructors. And then the office will arrange the check-out for these students.
5. Clearing compensations:
Any damaged or lost articles should be compensated according to the Room List and the Accommodation Agreement. The excessive electricity bills should be paid and the receipt of room security deposit can be handed in to Apartment Administration Office in order to be refunded in time.
NOTES:
(1). Any application of living outside after the deadline of September 15th will not be accepted by the International Students Affairs Office.
(2). Personal articles should be removed out of their room in time. Otherwise, the procedure of check-out will not be done.
(3). The key to room should be handed in to the cleaner after check-out is finished. Otherwise, the overdue accommodation fees will be added.
