Admission at Zhejiang University School of Medicine, China for International Education

Medical Bachelor Degree/Undergraduate in English Medium Programs:

1. Requirements for Applicants:

(1) Having completed 12 years of primary and secondary education;

(2) Meeting the minimum requirements for medical education in the applicant’s own country;

(3) Having passed national high school graduation examination (or examinations recognized by the applicant’s government) with minimum percentage of marks over 70% aggregate in physics, chemistry, and biology (Zoology & Botany)

(4) The candidates having to complete 17 years and must be under the age of 30 on December 31st of the year of admission.

(3). Scan copies of diplomas or certificates and course transcripts, A-level result and junior college transcripts are not essential, but highly appreciated.

Medical Master Degree/Postgraduate/ PG in English Medium Programs:

1.  Requirements for Applicants: 

(1) Non-Chinese citizens in good health with no infectious disease or any physical or mental diseases that may affect the normal study

(2) Holding bachelor degree in the medical field

(3) Applicants whose mother tongue and official language are not English are required to achieve TOEFL test score 90 (or above) or IELTS test score 6.5 (or above).

2. Documents for Application

(1) Application Form.

(2) Form for Provisional Acceptance of International Student by Zhejiang University Professor (if applicable).

(3) Notarized scan copies of degree diploma and/or certificates, If applicants are university students, they must also provide an official pre-graduation certificate showing their student status and stating expected graduation date. Documents in languages other than English must be attached with notarized translations in English. 

(4) Notarized scan copies of academic transcripts. Documents in languages other than English must be attached with notarized translations in English.

(5) TOEFL or IELTS test report. (Not required for applicants whose mother tongue or official language is English.)

(6). Scan copy of passport (or ID if PP is not available).

(7) Personal statement in English should include study and work experience, reasons for application and study proposal. No less than 1000 words.

(8) Two letters of recommendation written separately by associate professors or professors, in English. (Professors’ signature, contact phone number and email address must be put on the letter.) 

(9) Published academic papers or other academic achievements. (if applicable)

Medical Doctoral/PHD Degree in English Medium Programs:

1. Requirements for Applicants:

(1) Non-Chinese citizens in good health with no infectious disease or any physical or mental diseases that may affect the normal study

(2) Having a master’s degree in the medical field

(3) Being under the age of 45 (Age limit is flexible for healthy applicants with certain work experience and high academic ability).

(4) Applicants whose mother tongue and official language are not English are required to achieve TOEFL test score 90 (or above) or IELTS test score 6.5 (or above).

2. Documents for Application

(1). Application Form.

(2). A scan copy of passport (or ID if PP is not available).

(3). Form for Provisional Acceptance of International Student by Zhejiang University Professor (If any).

(4). Notarized copy of highest degree certificates. If applicants are university students, they shall provide an official pre-graduation certificate showing their student status and stating expected graduation date. Documents in languages other than English must be attached with notarized translations in English.

(5). Notarized copy of academic transcripts during Master’s and Bachelor’s degree study. Documents in languages other than English must be attached with notarized translations in English.

(6). Scan copies of English proficiency certificates. Applicants must provide the certificate of TOEFL or IELTS test score. (Not required for English native speakers)

(7). Personal statement, in English, should include study and work experience, reasons for application and study proposal. No less than 1500 words.

(8). Two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, in English. (Professors’ signature, contact phone number and email address must be put on the letter.) 

(9). Published academic papers or other academic achievements. (If any)
