Fudan University Shanghai Medical College has altogether 11 affiliated hospitals, of which 8 are level three first-class hospitals, with a medical staff of more than 15,000 and a caseload of almost one fourth of the total in Shanghai, including Zhongshan Hospital, Children’s Hospital, the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Eye and ENT Hospital, etc. These affiliated hospitals provide international students’ medical training and clinical rotation to lay the foundation for their qualification as a doctor after graduation. International students can finish internship in China or finish it when back to their home country.
During the period of internship, international students can develop practical skills, which will be helpful for becoming a doctor in the future. An examination needs to be passed after 1 year practice to get MBBS degree. What's more, medical overseas students may return to their motherland or to other country after graduation and acquiring MBBS degree or other medical degrees, they may decide to apply for Medical Licensing Examination directly and become a doctor after passing the exam and finish registration according to the local regulations of the country.
