Flight Vehicle Propulsion Engineering Program in China

1. Introduction

Flight Vehicle Propulsion Engineering program trains senior engineering and technical personnel with knowledge of flight vehicle propulsion plant and control system of flight vehicle propulsion. These personnel can be engaged in work of design, research, production, test, operation and maintenance of flight vehicle propulsion plant and other thermal power machinery in departments of aerospace, transportation, energy and environment.

2. Training Requirements

Students mainly study basic theory and knowledge of flight vehicle propulsion plant; receive basic training in field of mechanical engineering design, experimental test and computer applications with basic skills of design, test and maintenance of light vehicle propulsion plant and control system.

3. Knowledge and Ability

1) Master basic theory and knowledge of mathematics, mechanics, mechanology and electronics;

2) Master principle and method of structure design and analysis of flight vehicle propulsion plant and control system;

3) With comprehensive ability of mechanical engineering design; with capacity of research and development of new technology related to light vehicle propulsion engineering;

4) Understand application prospects and development trends of flight vehicle propulsion plant;

5) master basic method of document retrieval and data query; have ability of scientific research and practical work.

4. Main Courses

Engineering mechanics, engineering thermodynamics, structural mechanics, aerodynamics, mechanical design, machinery manufacturing, electrical and electronic technology, principle and application of microcomputer, principle of automatic control, testing technology, aerospace propulsion principle, engine design

5. Practical Teaching

Engineering mapping, metalworking practice, cognition practice, computer application and practice, curriculum design, program comprehensive experiment, production practice, graduation design, general arrangement is 30--35 weeks.

6. Program Experiments

Thermal experiment, fluid dynamics experiment, principle experiment of blade machine, test of strength vibration

7. Employment Prospects

Graduates can be engaged in work of research, technology development, overall demonstration, design, experiment research and technology management of flight vehicle propulsion system and engine system in field of aerospace, aviation and ships.
