Remote Sensing Science and Technology Program in China

1. Introduction

Remote Sensing Science and Technology is a new subject which is developed on the basis of the science of surveying and mapping, space science, electronic science, earth science, computer science, etc.

2. Training Objectives

Remote sensing science and technology trains compound and applied talents with strong practical engineering ability and research ability, who have basic theory, basic knowledge and basic skills of remote sensing science and technology, and can be engage in research, development, design, teaching, production and management in the fields of remote sensing science and technology.

3. Training Requirement

Students mainly study basic theory and basic skills of remote sensing technology, electronic technology and computer science and technology, get basic training of scientific research, have the basic ability of remote sensing science and technology.

4. Knowledge and Ability

1). Students will master the basic theory and basic knowledge of mathematics, physics, electronic technology, computer technology, etc.;

2). Students will master the basic skills and methods of remote sensing mechanism, remote sensing digital image processing, remote sensing information engineering and its application, and know its theoretical frontiers, application prospects and the latest development trends;

3). Students will master the principle and methods of geographic information system, spatial positioning system, surveying and mapping engineering of related disciplines;

4). Students will master the basic methods of information retrieval, document retrieval and the use of modern information technology to obtain relevant information, have a certain ability to design experiment, create experimental conditions, induce, arrange and analyze experimental results, write papers, participate in academic exchanges, etc.

Electromagnetic field theory, principle of communication, circuit, signal and system, microwave technology, principles and methods of remote sensing, microwave remote sensing, digital signal processing, digital image processing, the principle of GPS, error theory and surveying adjustment foundation, foundation of photogrammetry, remote sensing application model, laser imaging, radar interference measurement, pattern recognition and artificial intelligence.

7. Practical Teaching

Practice of principles and methods of remote sensing, microwave remote sensing practice, practice of geographic information system, digital image processing practice, digital signal processing practice, practice of circuit, signal and system, remote sensing image interpretation practice, graduation design, etc.

8. Employment Direction

Graduates can be engaged in the production, design, planning, management, research and teaching of photogrammetry and remote sensing in industries and departments of surveying and mapping, remote sensing, geology, water resources, transportation, agriculture, forestry, metallurgy, electric power, petroleum, medicine, machinery, mining, coal, national defense, military industry, urban construction, environmental protection, cultural relics protection, aerial photography, aerospace, electronic technology application, etc.
