International students at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine can enjoy different kinds of delicious food at campus canteens. The university attaches great importance to international students’ diets. In 2012, Xinyuan canteen was granted the title of “Demonstration standardized dining room of Sichuan Province”. Food in those canteens is highly praised for the reasonable price and high quality. Muslim food is also available. 

Outside the campus, there’re so many Chinese food, Western food, tea houses, snack bars and bars. With convenient transportation, students can choose any one for themselves.

Chengdu cuisine

Chengdu cuisine consists of Sichuan food, snack food and hot pot. Sichuan food has more than 3000 dishes, many of which are famous worldwide. Many of its dishes, such as "Grandma Chen’s Bean Curd" and “Twice-cooked Meat”, are known throughout the world. Chengdu’s snack food is famous for its tiny and exquisite look and delicious taste. Its representatives include: “Zhong Dumplings”, “Long Dumplings”, “Dandan noodles”, “Pork Lungs in Chili Sauce” etc. In recent years, hot pot has developed at an alarming speed. Some of the brand-name hot pots are popular in different parts of China, changing local eating habits.
